ADOPT-A-POT

Did you know that Island Lakes is the only subdivision in Winnipeg with an initiative such as our Adopt-A-Pot program? Every year, volunteers participate in this program by planting and caring for approximately 170 flowerpots located on medians, in cul-de-sacs, and on park walkways throughout the Island Lakes Community.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers who participated in this program in the past and welcome your participation again, as well as any newcomers who would like to share their green thumbs.

Please consider adopting a pot. Your dedication to this program ensures that our community is one of the most welcoming and beautiful areas in the city.

You may plant any type of annual flower you like. Also, feel free to add any other accessories such as painted rocks etc to make your pot unique. Flowerpots do not have to look the same. Variety is the spice of life! Once planted, you also need to care for your flowers. Water them regularly. If you go on vacation, please ask a neighbour to water your flowers for you. If that is not possible please contact me so I can arrange watering while you are away.

Please email me before planting and we will let you know if it is available as it may have already been spoken for. All flowerpots have a small numbered tag on them for easy reference.
