We would love to feature YOUR pets – one pet will be featured monthly in our Community Update!

Bandit (Hawk) was adopted from MB Mutts in 2011. This handsome boy was Mr. January in the MB Mutts 2012 Calendar (see his feature picture)! He’s a Husky Mix…he’s not overweight, he’s just a “little Husky”. Bandit is a big, lovey boy who loves hugs and will sit FOREVER, if he’s getting pats. LIKES: any treat including vegetables, his cat sisters (Oreo and Tigger), car rides and camping.
DISLIKES: thunder, fireworks, getting old, cooked peas and the compressor!

Oreo (Left) was adopted as a kitten in 2021 from Craig Street Cats and Tigger (Right) was
adopted as a kitten in 2023 from What’s One More Community. Oreo was a fast learner and was on her best behavior until Tigger showed her the “dark side”! Now, it’s not unusual to find charging cables totally destroyed. Tigger is more mischievous than Oreo, but she’s so cute we’ll keep her (lol). Besides, 1 am and 1 pm zoomies with both of them is hilarious.

Robbie is a gorgeous Westie! He is almost two years old. Robbie loves people and other dogs and loves going to doggie day care!

This beautiful feline is Maximus (Maxi). He was originally a friend’s cat but when his owner had to move, Maximus stayed with his current owner in Island Lakes. Maxi is her little furry kid now! Maxi likes to play and look out on the balcony, hunt flies and cuddle.

Meet Archer! A 4-year-old Poochon. He was found homeless and abandoned, but thanks to a friend who brought him to his new owners’ attention, Archer went for a weekend trial. That weekend turned into a week and now he has found his furever home in Island Lakes.

Archer is the perfect pup! He loves everyone and every dog he meets. He LOVES treats – his favorite being cucumber!

Montgomery (Monty) is a Blue Tongue Skink! These terrestrial lizards are found throughout Australia and parts of Indonesia. Monty has a bright blue tongue and is 1 ½ years old. He will live to approximately 15 to 20 years. Monty is an omnivore and eats a healthy mix of protein and vegetables on a weekly basis. As a reptile that is active during the day, Monty requires UVB for vitamin D3 production which is very important for building and maintaining his strong bones and a heat source to digest his food. Blue Tongue Skinks are intelligent and friendly and make excellent pets (although they do require a rather large enclosure)!
